Seatalk to Signal K Wireless Gateway with ST Wireless V1

Nauti-Control v2.0.3 Firmware Update โ€“ Signal K & OpenMarine Integration

One of the main goals of the Nauti-Control ST Wireless V1 project has always been to make SeaTalk bus data available wirelessly to other onboard applications.
With many boats already running OpenMarine and its Signal K Server, full integration has been a highly requested feature.

The v2.0.3 firmware release makes this possible โ€” Nauti-Control can now stream SeaTalk data directly to Signal K over Wi-Fi.

How to Set Up Nauti-Control with OpenMarine and Signal K

1. Connect Nauti-Control to the OpenMarine Wi-Fi network
Configure the box to join your OpenMarine access point as a child (slave) device rather than running as its own host AP.
After rebooting, you should be able to access Nauti-Control while connected to the OpenMarine network.

Example static IP: 10.10.10.101

2. Configure a Data Connection in Signal K

In the Signal K Server dashboard:

  1. Go to Server โ†’ Data Connections โ†’ Add
  2. Set the following:
    • Data Type: NMEA 0183
    • Source: TCP Client
    • Host: Nauti-Control IP (e.g. 10.10.10.101)
    • Port: 8091
    • Output Events: nmea0183
    • Suppress NMEA0183: True
    • Validate Checksum: True

Once saved, Signal K should immediately begin receiving compatible SeaTalk data such as depth, speed, wind, and heading, viewable in the Data Browser.
