Setup/Demo ST V1 Wireless Seatalk to TCP/IP NMEA Gateway On OPEN CPN

|

One of the great features of the ST V1 box is the ability to use it as an access point for tablets/laptops and share data over WIFI using TCP/IP NMEA gateway. This means you can receive the data from your Seatalk Instruments such as the ST60 / ST40 range within applications such as Open CPN .

Straight forward to setup and can be done in less than a minute.

Connect To Access Point (Nauti-Control)

Add TCP/IP Data connection in open CPN connection, if using default AP details the IP address required will be 192.168.1.1 Port 8091 TCP/IP as seen in settings below

Once this is setup you should then be able to see NMEA messages within the NMEA debug window if there is compatible seatalk messages (Wind, Depth , Speed , Course currently)

If data is coming through above you should then be able to setup the dashboard plugin to visualize the data as below
