The Nauti-Control N2K Wireless Controller drives a Simrad TP22 or TP32 autopilot — the same job the official (and discontinued) Simrad HR22 does — from a phone, watch, or the included 6-button remote.
Prefer to watch? Phil runs through the wiring, the one setting, and a bench side-by-side against the HR22:
Why bother with this
Simrad no longer sells the HR22, the official remote-control unit for the TP22 and TP32. The N2K Wireless Controller has an HR22 emulation mode that covers the same ground — standby, auto, course changes and tacks — from your phone, a watch, or the included remote.
- Works from a phone or tablet, a watch (Apple Watch, Wear OS, or a Garmin), or the included 6-button remote
- If you lose the included remote, a replacement is a fraction of the cost of an official HR22 remote
- Still fits the original TP22 / TP32 wiring — standard NMEA 2000, or SimNet with an adapter cable (not currently supplied)
Wiring and the one setting
The controller plugs straight onto the autopilot’s own NMEA 2000 / SimNet network alongside everything else on the bus. The only configuration step is telling it which protocol to speak:

On the bench
With the setting made, the app and the remote both control the autopilot directly: heading follows the compass live, Auto and Standby switch the pilot’s mode, −1°/+1° and −10°/+10° nudge the course, and Port/Stbd tack asks for a confirmation before committing — exactly as it would on an official HR22. Wind and Track modes are also available, depending on what instruments are already on the bus.
Phone, watch, or remote
The same controller also puts live heading, wind, speed and position on your phone, tablet or watch — not just autopilot control.

Compatible autopilots
The N2K Wireless Controller isn’t limited to the TP22 and TP32. It works with compatible Simrad, B&G and Raymarine Evolution autopilots on a standard NMEA 2000 or SeaTalk NG network, including the Simrad/B&G NAC, AC and AP families and the Raymarine Evolution EV-100/150/200/300/400 range, plus compatible Lowrance pilots. Legacy SeaTalk pilots need a SeaTalk → SeaTalk NG adapter. It also surfaces other N2K data already on the bus — heading, wind, speed, AIS — on the same apps.

This is a supplementary control system, not a safety-critical navigation tool — the skipper stays responsible.
